MARQUETTE — Superior Arts Youth Theater is inviting all local youth in preschool through eighth grade to audition for the fall production of “Annie Jr.”

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 6 and Thursday, Sept. 7, with callbacks on Friday, Sept. 8. All audition events take place at The Panowski Black Box Theatre, on the campus of Northern Michigan University.

For vocal auditions, youth are encouraged to come prepared with a 90-second combination of a monologue and song (suggested song cutting: 16-32 bars). If a youth is very young or inexperienced they can come with only a 90-second song cutting for their audition. Memorization of materials is preferred but scripts are allowed if needed.

Youth are encouraged to present anything that shows how they are able to bring a character to life with their performance.

Youth must sign up for an audition time and complete a dance call to be considered for a role.

All audition times are listed on the Superior Arts Youth Theater website. A pianist will be available for a portion of the auditions as well as a speaker with bluetooth capabilities and auxiliary cable for those auditioning with a track.

Visit www.saytheater.org for more information and to sign-up for an audition slot.

This production is directed by Caitlin Palomaki, music directed by Sara Parks, choreographed by Skylar Taavola, and produced by Becky Heldt.

Performances of “Annie Jr.” will take place Thursday, Nov. 9 through Sunday, Nov. 12 at the Forest Roberts Theatre on the campus of Northern Michigan University.

This activity is supported by the Michigan Arts and Culture Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. #gallery-5 { margin: auto; } #gallery-5 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-5 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-5 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
